Bragging Time

Somehow our Daughter is a Genius

A few months ago we noticed that Kaylee would point to words and start spouting off letters she knew from the alphabet song. Then we noticed that for some of the letters she could point at it and say the correct one (especially "S"- her favorite). So we've worked with her a little bit more and she's doing great! I love it because it's a really easy way to distract her in the grocery store when she starts getting antsy. I just give her a box and ask her to find specific letters.

So far she's best at the end of the alphabet. She knows N, O, S, T, U, and W very well and can usually point out B and E and sometimes other letters. She started figuring out the letters on her own because her favorite movie to watch is "They Might Be Giants: Here Come the ABC's." It has both a dvd and cd and they're her favorites. Now we just need to get her "They Might Be Giants: Here Come the 123's" so she'll stop calling 5's "S's".

BTW, Kaylee is 19 months.

This is another great stage! Especially like you said when they can keep themselves busy with finding letters at the store! It's so fun when they start to pick up and use the things they are learning! How fun for you to see her growing so much right now! She'll be ready for K soon ;)

I like the "somehow" in that first sentence because it's true.

It wasn't our doing! :)

Holy cow! We're still trying to get Brent to stop grunting for everything. That is definitely worth bragging about!
