Giveaway on my Gluten Free Blog!

A representative from CSN.Stores.com contacted me to see if I wanted to do a review and/or giveaway on my Gluten Free in Utah blog. How cool is that?! I got a $40 budget and could use it all for myself to review any product I wanted, use it all on a giveaway, or do both. I decided to do both.

So... GO ENTER!!! Glutenfreeinutah.blogspot.com

Here's why:
  • It's not like I have that many readers (though the readership is growing, which is exciting), so you'll have a better chance at winning this than you would on those blogs with hundreds of entries.
  • You don't have to be on a gluten free diet to enter or to get use out of my blog (or even living in Utah for that matter). I mainly post recipes that I ate before I went gluten free (meaning they don't need special "weird" flours) that are easy and yummy!
  • It's FREE!!! And doesn't hurt to try.
If you win you get to choose your gift from 3 Rachael Ray cookware products all worth $20. So fun!

Laughing With Kaylee

So here's the story behind this cell phone video (sorry about the poor quality),

Kaylee made that blowing noise with her mouth on accident and it made some hair that was in her face fly up. She thought it was hilarious! So she kept doing it again and again. She'd even move the hair back into her face if it ever got out just so she could make it fly. It was quite cute.

I didn't record this until she'd been doing it for over 5 minutes non-stop and she did it for almost another 5 minutes after.

She makes us smile. :)

Great price on 2010 Entertainment Coupon Book

I typed this up on facebook for a friend and figured I'd share it here too.

Right now the 2010 Entertainment books are on sale for $20 and that includes shipping (usually $20-30). If you sign up for different cash back shopping sites you get $5 just for signing up. Then you can earn between $6 and $8 for ordering the book through that site, so you can get the book for between $7 and $9.

Last year I did Cashbaq.com to get it free, but they're not doing that good of a deal this year. Darn.

Ebates, Cashbaq, and Inbox Dollars all offer $5 sign up bonuses (I'm sure there are more out there, but those are the ones I know).

Ebates and Cashbaq are both giving $6 if you buy the book through them, so it'll be $9 (which would be paid for by using 1 or 2 coupons). You can earn $8 from Inbox Dollars, but you can't get your check from them until you've earned at least $30, so unless you plan to shop a lot with them (or click on their emails, play games, take surveys, etc.) the extra $2 wouldn't be worth it.

Ebates pays you every 3 months, as long as it's over $5.01 (if it's under that amount it'll carry over to the next quarter). You'd get your check from them mid-February. Cashbaq will send you your check once you meet $10 (which you will with this deal). Really, any of the sites are good. Check them out and see which one best fits your needs.

I'm sure there are more sites, but these are the ones I'm most familiar with. I'm already a member of Cashbaq and Inbox Dollars, so I'll probably sign up with Ebates.

I keep wondering if a better deal will come along soon, but this one is really good and the longer you wait, the less time you have to use the coupons (they expire Nov. 1, 2010). (They will continue to drop in price if you'd rather wait, but you won't have as much time to use it.)

You can go here to see if there are deals you'd use. We've been planning to go to Discovery Gateway, the South Davis Recreation Center for swimming, and Jungle Jims all this next year and each of those has a buy one get one free, so we'll for sure save $20 from those alone (I'm sure we'll use more than that).

Hope this helps someone! Let me know if you have any questions about it. Also, if you do any online shopping, be sure to check whichever site you sign up with to see if you can earn money from that purchase.

Click here to sign up for Cashbaq and help me earn money for referring a friend!
Same thing here for Inbox Dollars (hey, if you're going to sign up anyway, might as well help me out, right?).

Cute Kids

Growing up so fast

We took the side off of Kaylee's bed to give her a "big girl" bed. She's loving it!

Where's Logan?
Kaylee also still enjoys giving Logan stuffed animals to play with.
She's a good big sister.

More Halloween

Because you can never have too much Halloween.

Kaylee has had tons of fun hanging out with cousins recently. She loves them all from both sides and they're all so sweet to her! She did a great job trick-or-treating. I think she was in shock that random people kept giving her candy. It was a lot of fun.

Introducing...

Disney's Cinderella

Ned and Chuck
from "Pushing Daisies"

Mexican Bandito

Kaylee loves Cinderella, so it made sense for her to dress up as her. I made her costume to try to make it as true to Cinderella as possible (what's with pink bows being on the store bought Cinderella costumes? Cinderella doesn't wear pink bows or pictures of herself!).

"Pushing Daisies" is one of our favorite TV shows, which is why we decided to dress up like the main characters from it. I highly highly recommend it. Sadly, it was canceled after 2 seasons, but you can still watch it online. Here's one place http://www.thewb.com/shows/pushing-daisies/. Seriously, watch it. It's like a fairy tale show. The colors are vibrant and they do so much fun stuff with the cinematography. It's a clean show too which makes me even more upset that it was canceled instead of the other trashy shows on these days. Watch it. You won't regret it.

Logan was our little bandito. Why? Because it seemed fitting :).

Logan's Blessing

We blessed Logan last week. He wore an adorable tuxedo (tails and all) that my Grandma White bought before she died. There weren't even any grandsons on the way, but she saw it and fell in love with it and I can't blame her. I'll try to get even better pictures of it (or maybe Brooke can when Jaxton's blessed in it. The white on white isn't easy to photograph.), but it has stripes down the side of the pants even. So cute!

He had his dark hair styled like his daddy's and he looked extremely handsome!

My Rite Aid Deals

So I ended up getting $78 worth of free stuff Monday. I did have to pay $5 in taxes, but I had $10 worth of coupons, so I actually earned $5 on it all. And I'm set with cold and flu supplies for a few years, both kid and adult stuff! I ended up not being able to get to the store till around 8:45 and there were a few items that I barely got (only 1 or 2 left), but there was plenty of almost everything else.

If you haven't gone yet, you still may be able to get some free stuff. I'd call your local Rite Aid and either ask if they're substituting for things that are out or if they've gotten a new shipment in (or when they will).

If you did go, be sure to enter your store receipt, so you can get your rebates!

I love Rite Aid deals! I'm getting a check in the mail for $11 from September rebates (I got a bunch of Johnson and Johnson Baby stuff for free, plus made money on that one) and my October check will be over $145 plus a $10 gift card. I spent less than $145 on all that stuff! Pretty awesome!

Homemade Detergent and Rite Aid Deals

I wanted to get this Rite Aid thing up now hoping people will check blogs tonight.

You can get tons of stuff for free from Rite Aid this week. It's mostly stuff for the cold and flu season. The best part about it is even if you don't think you'll use any of it (I like it as part of food storage) you can actually MAKE MONEY off of it.

My favorite site for this is moneysavingmom.com. (She's awesome. They're working to buy a house with cash- yes, it does help that her husband is a lawyer and she has a totally successful money making blog, but still... pretty cool.) You can find everything that should be free as well as links to coupons, so you can earn money off the items.

It's best if you have coupons from the Sunday paper. You can earn lots more if you do, but there are printable coupons even if you don't. I didn't have the right Sunday coupons needed, but I'll still be able to make $10 on top of all the stuff I'll get for free. Be sure to print off the Rite Aid coupon for $5 off when you spend $25.

It's best if you go first thing in the morning (as in 8:00 am) just so you won't have to worry about products being gone. Plus the employees haven't been dealing with crazy couponers all day yet, so they're usually happier to help you out.

I should have posted about Rite Aid's deals last week too (sorry). I got $59.67 worth of stuff for free, plus made $12. Not bad!

Just so you know, you will have to pay for this, enter your receipt info online, and then wait for the rebate check. Joel wasn't so sure about my couponing at first because I was spending a bunch of money on things we didn't need. But he has seen the benefits of it and that we for sure get the money back and now he loves it!

Text or call with any questions. I'll be up at 8 :).

Also, homemade laundry detergent is awesome. I'll do more of a post on this later, but for now here is a link to the recipe I used: http://www.duggarfamily.com/recipes.html. I made the liquid one. If anyone has any questions on this, let me know so I can answer them in the actual post I do on it.

More post church fun

Logan thinks his sister is pretty silly (see posts below).

Kinda gross

She's also found mint chips. She puts one in her mouth and washes it down with the spaghetti sauce.

After Church Snack

Kaylee has figured out how to push the chair over to the counter by herself. She drank a lot. :)

Hoping our luck continues (we need your help!)

We entered a Groom My Room contest with My 99.5 radio station to get an Ethan Allen room makeover. We've had some good luck with contests recently, and thought this could be a fun one to win.

I'm not going to lie... it's a little embarrassing to post this picture (which is why I'm going to explain below), but we could use your help.

http://www.my995fm.com/pages/groom_my_room/

Vote #17

We know there are some rooms on there that need it more (and some that need it less), but we'd like to win anyway. :) You do have to put in an email address and then verify it. Hopefully you have a junk email address if that's a problem. One vote per computer- if you have multiple computers feel free to vote from each one. ;)

A little explanation about how bad our room looks. If you've seen our apartment, you know it's pretty awesome (vaulted ceilings, cool woodwork, big rooms, etc.), but it doesn't have much storage at all. Because of this, our master bedroom has become our storage room. We have stuff lining the walls. Also, we hang dry our clothes (no dryer hookups), so there is an ironing board with clothes hanging on it.

I haven't even attempted to decorate much because I don't feel like there's a point right now. It would be awesome to win the room makeover! I don't know exactly what it would be, but I'm hoping for some matching furniture and maybe some nice shelves for storage or something. Anyway, if you could, please vote!

Posh N Pretty

I told some cousins up at the women's retreat (which was tons of fun, by the way!) that I'd post the link to this site. It's where I learned to make hair bows and all the tips to make them better. You can also get way cute kufi caps in lots of colors (knit caps you put flowers on) for only $2.50 (the cheapest I've seen them elsewhere was $7 and I thought that was a good deal). They have them in infant size and then a fits all size. There's even a tutorial on how to make them.

There are also the knit headbands that you can clip the flowers to for really cheap and in tons of colors. I also got a bunch of ribbon from the site because it's a great price.

Posh N Pretty Boutique Creations

Let me know if you have any questions. Also, if you're going to order something there is usually a coupon code on the site. If you can't find it I probably have one in an email from them that I can give you.

Fun Pictures

I don't know if it was because I was in a good mood this morning or if I'm just plain crazy (probably both), but when Kaylee insisted she pour her own cereal I let her do it.
She actually did get most of it in the bowl.
"Huh. Eating Cheerios can actually lower my cholesterol?? Interesting. . ."
She then insisted on helping me clean up. So cute!

Water fun at Grandma's.
She wasn't a fan of the sprinkler, so we pulled out tubs and buckets and she loved it!This is a really neat free water place by some city office buildings. I wish it wasn't getting cold so fast, so we could go back.We met up with Brooke and Shaun and their kids. Kaylee loved Macee's swimsuit. The cutest part was when Kaylee said each of the princess's names and Macee said, "Yeah, that's right! Good job!" What a cutie! Jeffrey and Macee are so sweet to Kaylee.

We went out to eat for Joel's brother, Brent's, birthday. Kaylee had a great time and was good even though we didn't get there till her bedtime.

Kaylee loves stickers. This day she shared with Logan.
It looks like he's smiling in this picture, so I'm guessing he didn't mind ;).

Does he look bored to anyone else?
