It's Buzz Time for Logan

'Yeah, I know I'm cute - even if I'm sideways.'

I'm posting this video because it tells a lot about our zoo trip:
  • Since it was such a cold day and not very many people were there we often had animals focusing on us.
  • Logan was fascinated by the animals and would just stare (he does that with house pets too).
  • There was a family there that was getting some sort of personal zoo tour and they included us whenever we'd be around while they were being shown something (in this case a talking bird). Right before that, she gave the animals in each cage food and after this she fed the giraffes. Very cool.

Kaylee and the Leopard

So this leopard kind of gives me the creeps. Why? Well, I don't think it liked Kaylee too much. Kaylee loved him. She loved to follow him. Which is probably why he didn't like her. I think she annoyed him.

This is what she was doing. Doesn't she seem thrilled?

If you go to about 35 seconds on this one you'll see how the leopard felt about it (boy, was I glad there was glass between them!):

I get creeped out every time I think about it. I don't like that a leopard was paying so much attention to my daughter and then growling at her (you can't hear it in the video, but that's what was going on).

P.S. She kept calling him a tiger as well... that's enough to make any leopard angry.

Tigers

Having the zoo to yourself means you can take the time to pose your children on everything you see.

We love it when Daddy doesn't have to go to work!

Joel had some time off work last month, so we took advantage of that and went to the zoo and to the Gateway Children's Museum. I'm breaking up my favorite pictures/videos into a bunch of posts that will publish throughout the month (that way my family can get a dose of cute kids every few days instead of all at once).

The day we went to Hogle Zoo was wet and cold. We decided it'd be worth it because they always say the cats are more active when it's cold... they weren't.

Pros of going that day: We had the zoo basically to ourselves. It wasn't hot.

Cons: It was cold! Kaylee and I looked pretty dorky (the difference in weather between our house and the zoo was pretty big. We're dressed for rain, cold, and the hot sun all at once... yes, I am wearing a raincoat with a scarf.).

Bundled up and ready to see some animals

Mustard, anyone?

One day I opened the fridge and asked Kaylee what she wanted for lunch. She saw a packet of mustard and insisted on eating it, so I did what any responsible mom would do... I whipped out the camera and opened it for her.
