This past Monday we had a really fun family home evening, so I wanted to share! It was the first fhe we did with Kaylee (in the past Joel and I have been doing fhe with just us two after Kaylee went to bed). We'd been talking about how she was probably old enough that we should start having her participate and Joel decided this would be the week. I was in charge of the lesson and he planned the activity, treat, and song.
I did our lesson from the new nursery manual. We started on the first one, which is "I Am a Child of God." We did the lesson and the activities the manual suggested and then we colored some pictures while we sang "I Am a Child of God" (which was really fun because Kaylee already knows and loves that song). Joel got a boy picture to color and me and Kaylee did girl pictures.
Pretty awesome, huh? ;) Joel's looks the way it does because he only used the crayons Kaylee would hand him and in whatever order she handed it to him. (Kaylee really did color hers, it's just really light.)
Next we had the activity that Joel planned (we ate our treat right after dinner because it sounded good- sour gummy worms). First, Kaylee got to pick out any book and then Joel read it to us. Then we had a one song dance party. It was really fun! Kaylee loves dancing and I think she liked it even more having both Mommy and Daddy join her.
I'm excited to start having fhe every week with Kaylee. I feel like Joel and I are good at doing things with her, but it's not often that she gets both of our full attention at the same time and I could tell she loved it!

Cute! I need to get that manual...
Super cute! That's great that you're gonna do fhe every week now! We need to!
I don't think my picture deserves any disclaimers.
It is ART!
Good for you! I'm excited to pick up the manual when we're in the usa... when the girls plan the lesson sometimes they don't want help, and having a little more guidance will be nice:)
that is so awesome. We need to start doing that with EmmaLynn too. sounds like it worked out well for you guys.
Ok, that's just plain cute. Love it!
