It was a few months after our 1 year anniversary, but Joel and I ate our wedding cake.... and it was delicious!!!!! Thanks to my mom who took the time to wrap it perfectly over many hours, so it would last this long. I should have made it look more presentable for the picture, but I seriously couldn't wait to eat it. The sad thing is I ate most of the cake by myself within 3 days. Yikes! It was so good though!
I'm so happy with the cake we had. It looked cool, matched my wedding colors, and tasted amazing! Here are some pictures from the reception (notice how nice we were when we fed each other the cake).

That is nice.. ours didn't last very well.. in fact, Dan ate some and then we just threw it away... I am glad yours was so good! Was it Gluten free? or were you sick for a while?
I remember your cake, it was good. We ate leftover cake for so long after our wedding day it felt like a whole year. We were nice when we fed it to each other too. The rule was Mike could be dirty with the cake or the garter but not both and it was his pick. He picked the right one.
When it come time for us to eat the cake again, it was at my parent's house 5 hours away and plus, when we did actually get it out of the freezer, neither one of us we eat it. Sad.
I love your cake by the way.
Mom does do a great job of wrapping it so it tastes great a year later! Cute pictures!!!
Those are some great pics! Who's that cute couple in the background?
I seriously can't believe you didn't save me any. Sad.
That's Randy and Claudia in the background.
Randy has a yellow tie on so he's easy to spot.
Good eye, Mike. They ARE a cute couple!
Naomi, the top layer of my cake was gluten-free. I just took a gluten-free cake mix to the baker and she did it that way. It was so yummy!
My mom does something where you wrap it in plastic wrap, freeze it for 45 mins, wrap it in foil, freeze 45 mins, repeat a ton of times (or something along those lines). It's time consuming for her, but it works great and I really appreciated it!
Good to hear! to freezing does sound time consuming, but at least it worked! That was probably our mistake.. plus we moved during all of it too.. which I am sure didn't help... oh well!
Cute pics! I told Luke he had to be nice to me too.
Sorry, this is a little off topic...
What is a Clearplay DVD player exactly and where did you get it? I saw that you mentioned it on Paige's blog. I am very interested...
Heidi, it's a dvd player that edits movies when you stick in a dvd. You have a membership to get new movie edits and then you download them onto a memory stick and plug them into the player. When you put your dvd in it will automatically edit out bad stuff (you control the settings and what you edit: language, sex, violence, etc.). I'm so excited for it! We should be getting it either tomorrow or Friday.
The website is clearplay.com. Don't order it straight from them though. You can get deals where you get the player and a membership for cheap. I looked around a bunch and the best deal I found was from a TV offer. Let me know if you want to know more.
That is sooo cool. I really do want to know more. That is new on my list for things that I would like to own. :)
I was really sad when CleanFlicks went out of business here, but this is even better. You can send me an e-mail if you want, or I will just check back here. Thanks!
Also, though CleanFlicks is dead, Family Edited DVDs (http://www.familyediteddvds.com/) still seems to be up and running if you wanted to buy a DVD.
Go figure.
So you CAN have your cake and eat it too, you just have to wait a year?
That's awesome it still tasted good...ours was horrible! :(
Thanks for your comment on our blog...we painted part of the room chocolate brown, not all the walls because I was afraid it would make our room seem smaller...but I love the way it turned out!
How are you guys doing?
